Ian Hardman is a senior HMI and has worked as a senior inspector for the last eight years. He is a qualified teacher and, prior to working for Ofsted, was a headteacher for eight years in two different primary schools. He has particular experience in leading schools out of categories of concern. He has further experience of developing leadership capacity, including governance, improving the quality of teaching and learning and overall school improvement. Ian is trained and has much experience of inspecting primary, independent and special schools, having completed enhanced SEND training. He is also responsible for the inspection of local areas’ provision for special educational needs and/or disabilities in the North West.
