Dr Paul Gosling
Dr Paul Gosling graduated from Exeter University in 1992 with a B.Ed (HONS) degree. Paul began his teaching career after leaving university and taught in Canning Town in the London Borough of Newham for seven years. Paul then spent three years working in schools across Newham supporting school leaders and school administration staff in their use of IT.
In 2001 Paul relocated to Devon where he has taught and led a variety of schools up to the present. Paul is the headteacher of Exeter Road Community Primary School in Exmouth Devon, which is part of The Avocet Learning Trust, a cooperative trust of three local primary schools. Since 2010 Paul has been the NAHT branch secretary for Devon, Torbay & Plymouth and has been part of the NAHT South-West Executive. Paul has been the President and the Secretary for his region. Paul has been a National Executive Member of NAHT since 2016 representing the South-West region.
Paul is keen on study completing a MA in Education in 1998 and a B.Sc (HONS) in Earth Sciences in 2002. In 2019 Paul became a Doctor of Education for his thesis on children’s narrative identities. Paul has a keen interest in natural history, with a special interest in birds and cetaceans. Paul is also a guitarist and bassist and has played in several bands. Paul has worked in education for three decades and is committed to fighting to achieve the best educational outcomes for all children. The motto for Paul’s school is: ‘Every Child Can Succeed’.
